    Hello all,

    Just wanted to take some time to introduce myself. I am completely new to this hobby and haven't really started yet. I've wanted to develop and care for a reef aquarium for years, but just recently found myself in a situation where I could hack it from a space and financial perspective.

    I bought a 55-gallon tank from a co-worker (She used to keep pond fish in it during Minnesota winters. Then raccoons ate all her pond fish.). I've been buying dry goods in no particular order and still have a lot to buy in that department. I'm hoping to get things set up and start cycling live rock shortly after the holidays.

    I've sporadically read basic books on keeping marine live for years, but am now solidly in the self-education process. So I'm hoping you'll all be able to help me on that front!

    Welcome! There is great info here. I was doing the same thing myself , buying equipment off CL and using the advice from here when making purchases. Just started to make water for my 150. The excitement has lasted a long time, but now the work begins!
