    There's a few random acan heads in my LFS's LPS tank. They were bailouts too, and seem to be doing ok. They're been there at least a month.

    Usually, it's a reaction to stress. Rarely, it can be a reaction to extremely favorable conditions.

    It's kinda like the anemone splitting behavior. It happens only on the extremes of really good conditions or really bad conditions. It's when they feel they have either enough nutrients to disperse satellite colonies safely, or if it feels like that's no other choice for survival.
