I have several acans and I feed them meaty foods such as mysis, bits of krill, brine shrimp, and squid. I usually use tweezers to put the food in the polyps and the tentacles grab it and swallow it up. My question is do I have to feed each individual polyp like a dendro or does the entire coral benefit from some of the heads eat? I also have the same question about my trumpet coral.

They will benifit from individual feeding but if you only manage to get a few heads its fine.

I will normally feed my acans, frogspawn, candy canes individually

    Hi and Welcome Stonefish.

I just use a turkey baster, every head gets some then. You will see increased growth when you feed every polyp. I feed every three to four days.

I try to feed every head but some of them are hard to get to. My frogspawn just refuses to take any food from the tweezers but it's growing so it's obviously eating. My candy canes eat without a problem and so do the acans but they are all growing great and are very puffed up since I started feeding them with the tweezers. Thanks for your response.

That's about how often I feed them as well. Sometimes the turkey baster doesn't work too well with the acans but it's perfect for my dendros and aussie duncans. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to 3reef. Frogspawn, Hammers and Torches rarely seem to eat food given to them but grow quite well. They must get food from waste products and light.
