Does anyone know where to get some fairly cheap acans other than from live aquaria or blue zoo aquatics?

I just got my first frag of Acans and I love the coloring and was looking for some more color strains to add to my collection.

Thanks. I already have bid on some of the stuff on that site. I have bid on two regular blue crocea clams and hope that I win them because I cannot find reasonable clams anywhere near me!

I have also bid on some chalices because my LFS never has them. I hope I can win a couple!

"reefkoi" is a good ebay seller. I recently bought four of his acans.

If you get one of the really colorful ones like a rainbow or pink make sure to keep it in low light. They're known to lose their color easily.

Okay. Currently I have two heads of a red with blue acan. It is almost on the sand bed, but I placed it in the rock structure because my Diamond Goby likes to steal anything that falls on the sand bed!

Would you recommend directly on the sand bed? I have a 48 in 6 bulb Current Nova Extreme Pro T5 for lighting.

Start it low and take if from there. There's a lot of variables, Kelvin, bulb wattage, tank depth.
My pink lost a lot of color and it's almost on the bottom. Some color is coming back now. I had 20K XMs for a while in a 24" deep tank and it seemed to like the higher K. But I think that's true with most colorful corals. Just not enough PAR for my other corals.
My red acan doesn't seem to mind being mid tank but I would still start yours low and move it up if you want it in a higher spot. I haven't noticed any color changes with my red.
Rainbow acans are the one notorious for turning dull colors after people get them home... usually due to too much light.
