People just aren't used to the South. I say ma'am or sir to show formal respect to someone. Like when I was a cashier at the TN Aquarium I always said it if the person was a complete stranger. People also seem to be flabbergasted by the hospitality of the South. I open doors for people all the time, and whenever I do it in Florida or somewhere I'm looked at like i'm a demi-god or something. Here, it's just normal.

You might be able to get people to believe that if they haven't heard you talk in person. They would get a kick out of listening to Roger talk.. ;)

    And: U'ins should know it's a crick.

You have no idea how often Roger and I argue about how to pronounce the word "dog".

And I never learned how to say "creek" because we didn't have none where I grew up

Well im Welsh. Now thats a silly accent. I imagine Steve would agree. Find a video on youtube or something. I bet you'll chuckle.

About American accents. To me...most American accents sound the same. The only ones i can tell apart are:
    Generic American accent
    Southern accent
    New yorker

But the one thing you guys do have in common is that you all speak SO loud. I have a few american friends here and you can here them coming from a couple of streets away. lol
