I'm not being mean. I'm proposing doing what the military does to soldiers: you expose them to some of the non-deadly weapons they're going to use against someone else, so they know what they're doing. The military puts soldiers in a room with tear gas as part of basic training. They expose them to flash bangs. Do you think they do this for the sake of the soldiers? Many cops get tazered as part of their training in using tazers. Do you think this is for the benefit of the cops?

No. They do it for the sake of the innocent people who might get hit with this stuff if a soldier is reckless with the equipment. They want the soldiers and cops to know exactly what they're doing before they use it on some hapless victim.

Cira050 if I was you I would just wait you don't want to rush. Who knows if you put the fish in and it dies then your out a couple of dollars and then you still will have to wait until your lfs reopens. jm2c. Good luck what ever you decide to do.

Millions have used Damsels for cycling, if it's your opinion that it is cruel, that is just your opinion.

    I agree.
Again, many use fish to cycle a tank.

He was simply looking for re-assurance, if you were offended, I can't see why. From my psychology class days I would say you are an individual that, once you give advice, you feel the other person must take it. This a flaw with your psyche. You assume he thinks he has all the answers, very telling for me as I am a study of the mind and reason.
No, it is not rude to say you are lecturing, that is how he took it and he is entitled to his opinions and feelings. If that offended you I would hate to see something really offensive happen to you!

No, your analogy here is not comparable. We breath air and fish extract air from the H2O.

It is my opinion that this thread got out if hand and I believe it did because of the young mans' age. This thread should be closed.
