Well I'm acclimating my 10 mexican turbo snails, 5 margarita snails and 1 blue spot sea hare late into the night... and had an important question: is it wrong of me to acclimate stuff for my tank and eat sushi at the same time??

;DLOL also how does everyone acclimate their inverts? I do 3 hr. minimum and put in 1-3 turkey basters every 20 min.

for snails and hermets I do what you are doing for an hour.. I do the same thing for longer if it is a cleaner shrimp or something. I know some folks will do snails and hermits in as little as a half hour.. too short for me.

3 hour minimum for me on all inverts, they are touchy so I figure better safe then sorry, even if it means staying up past 1 to do so!

Better safe then sorry I say.. Love the dedication! Here's to hoping you don't pop a new Tank addition in your mouth thinking it's a snack given what you are eating! :-X

LOL! No new fish for me, so the Tuna, eel, salmon and shrimp sushi can't be a mistake!

I know several people that take hours to acclimate inverts. Snails especially are touchy and they cost too darned much to take a chance IMO.

I drip acclimate also, usually about 2 hours. I've had good success doing this so far. I agree with better safe than sorry!

WOW, OK. I had no idea people acclimated snails this long.

I've got a ton-o-snails. I only floated them for 20 minutes or so and then dropped them in. Didn't have any die-off...

the snails I did this way: nerites, ceriths, planaxis, limpets, nassarius, chiton - I did the same thing with my hermits and my emerald.

    Maybe I was just lucky...
