i definitely understand that there is not really a wrong way to do it (except for throwing them straight in) so i guess ill just try it a couple different ways until i find something i like. in time i want to do the drip set up but i think the easist way for me to start out will be to do the turkey baster. I still have a couple of days before I get anything so I have some time to think about it.

luckily i have a pretty good LFS and they check my slaenity every time i do a water test and mine has pretty much been matching theirs so acclimation shouldnt be too hard.

ive always just put the bags in the water left them there for 30 mins then i just dump them in. i know ill get shunned for doing this but ive never had problems with any of my fish. im sure drip acclimation and slowly changing water works well and is alot better for the fihs but my method does work

Everyone prefers a different method. But, here's what I do: I float the bag for 20 minutes, then every 5 minutes I add some of my aquarium's water to the bag, and continue doing that for another 15-20 minutes. Then I net the fish and set him free! Plus I keep the lights off for a couple hours afterward.

All my acclimations have gone smoothly and my fish never appeared stressed. But every fish is different, and it does matter what the water was like where they came from...though I don't think FS water is that drastically different...

my LFS has a very clean good set up. I mean i have a petco but compared to them you can tell they know what they are doing. Not the petco isnt a good place. I buy the same water the the LFS uses so I am pretty sure the acclimatin wont be to difficult.
