    To follow up on Jason's comment about this one, lighting and nutrient levels play a big part in SPS coloration. When an SPS coral isn't receiving a sufficient intensity of light, the symbiotic algae in the tissues will increase to meet the energy demands of the coral itself, thus covering the natural pigments. I have experienced this one myself in switching from PC to metal halides. Most, if not all of my SPS coral have gone through some pretty drastic color changes..all for the better.
