Trying to figure out what type of acro I have here. I bought it as a dark brown/purple frag and it has colored up well and is starting to take off. I was thinking valida or bonsai? Any help is appreciated. 20140911_135735.jpg

I know it as a GARF purple bonsai, I have heard it called a A. Nana as well as a Valida. Looks more like a Nana to me.

Nice, nice piece, congrats, I love the purple and tricolors.

I've always been told GARF bonsai (along with other bonsais) is a. valida. That being said, I don't think yours is a bonsai, looks like a typical tri color. The growth pattern/coralite structure looks slightly different than the a. nana's I've kept.

Could definitely be a Valida, it has the thin branches, with the cream color base but boy it sure is a nice blue one. Might be more compact under different flow and lighting though. Either way it's happy where it is and the water chemistry.

I'm happy to hear that. It's on the bottom of the tank and is soon to have a nice Tongan stick of its own. Now that you said that I'm scared to move it, lol. My millepora seem to be doing good as well but that's by far my favorite. It's amazing how it looks since I first got it, fast grower too.
