    im going to an lfs tomorrow , theyre havin a sale on. i want to try my hand at an acro. i believe there are some that are easier to keep than others. i wil lbe putting it high in my tank, and was told my lights would be sufficient enough. my old memory has gave up on me , again. lol what are the more easier or hardier acro's that i should try? thnx in advance.

    By acros I assume you mean SPS and not acroporas. If this is true then Montipora caps and digitatas are pretty hardy. Also birdnests.

    If you are worried about keeping an acro, I would start with something cheap. If it dies, then your not out too much. Also, your lights should be fine.

    I think birdssnest is one of the easier to keep. I had one under PC lighting for while and saw a bit of growth.

    thnx for the help. birdsnest was one that i was told about. so was the montipora. hopefully they will have some there tomorrow. if so i will post pics. its 3 for 100 at the store, so who knows what i will bring home. im sure i wont be emptyhanded. lol

    they wouldnt be frags for that price , even up here. lol, i know that much. i saw some there last time and they were colonies.

    I got a birdsnest and assumed it needed high light. I put it at the top under T5's. bleached. (by assume, I mean I read the requirements on the website, not on 3reef)


    have since moved it to bottom of tank in low flow and it seems to be starting to sloooowwwwllllly recover. I see you have T5's too...

    Do you mean sps corals or acropora corals, which are a type of sps?
