I need some help here. My dad has a 40 gallon "bio-cube" if you will, made out of acrylic. The tank is 17 years old and was a freshwater tank for about 15 of those years but me and my dad converted it to saltwater 2 years ago. Anyways, it is just like a bio-cube but is edge-less. From what i know about euro-bracing, it seems to be euro-braced. The problem is, the euro-brace is bowing up. On every side. I am just now noticing it because i think it just happened recently. Is this a sign of old age and the water weight finally getting the best of the 17 year old tank? Could this potentially break? I dont know if bowing like this of the euro-brace is normal, and if its not, what do you recommend? Hopefully you say either we must repair or replace the tank because my dad has been on the very edge of getting a new custom made tank for the longest time, and this might push him over the edge ;D At the same time, i hope its nothing urgent. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

PS: the attached picture is just to give you an idea of the brace, not the bowing. you cant see the bowing in the picture.

I think you forgot to attach your pic. If euro-bracing is bending up, that would be a sign of too much stress pushing in on the tank, not the water pushing out, which would be very odd and makes me think you're talking about something different. Are there any heat sources nearby that may cause the acrylic to warp?

I'd put it in the "Tank Museum" and get a new one. Even "repairing" it would cost more than a new one. Tell Dad to "Fork Out". ;D

Good to hear from you again Cira.....Good Luck!
