Acrylic offers stronger bonding between the pieces, it is lighter and overall stronger. You can also get many different shapes that would be impossible with glass. Again, though, glass won't scratch nearly as easy.

Did we mention price. Acrylic is MUCH cheaper than glass on these larger tanks.

Get glass, acrylic WILL scratch one way or another.

Ive also seen acrylic tanks start to yellow in color. I would go with glass, but its kind of like Honda or harley yah know??? Everyone has a different opinion.

I agree. Certain cleaners will also cause the acrylic to deteriorate. Glass will also be much cheaper. I'm not sure what jonjonwells experience is, but glass will be much cheaper, up to a given size, but usually it is quite large.

Starphire hadn't even crossed my mind, thank you stoudt. I will research the starphire and see what I find about it. Any suggestions on dealers who can custom build a tank, either glass or acrylic? I could find several dealers myself but would feel more comfortable with referrals.

rodcpierce- Yellowing was one of my concerns so thank you for mentioning it.
I moving to 75 gallon tank and would prefer to save a few bucks if possible but I also want it to last. Kind of like wanting the look of the harley but not wanting to pay the price for one. So a Honda it may be, its cheaper and lasts longer.
