I want to put a piece of acrylic over the top of my refugium. It's going to be cut in two and have holes for my plumbing into it. Is there any problem with this?

First off I'd ask why ? then if its set up properly there would be no reason I can think of to cap it on top , You will only be locking in the gasses from the plants .. CO2 will build up . I myself would never cap my refugium off from the atmosphere But thats me. You could try it just keep a sharp eye out for any water changes and let use know how it worked out in a few months Good luck.

not if you leave air holes or put fans on it. you really need to preserve the gas exchange provided by an open top.
