actinic 03 purple or true blue actinic?

Actinic has purpose. It stimulates the algea that lives within the coral to grow. While you can have great growth running 10k only. True colors and health show when using actinic in conjuction with the 10k.

So does it matter which one you get, or is 420 better. Seems my options are slim (PC's). I can eighter go with 2 - 10k/460, or 1 - 10k/6700k and 1 460nm/420nm. I'm leaning towards 10k/460nm because I hate the 6700k's yellowness.

 

03 vs ?, it all depends on the main bulbs output. some 03's dont work with specific makers of 10k. heres an example reeflux 10k with 03 is a good combo for the maximum spectrum. aqualine 13k with 7100 combo works well for the maximum spectrum. the list is long. nm are the root of all evil in the reef world.

 

Hmm.. well here are my choices for my hood. I can use only two bulbs. It's a PC fixture


SunPaq Dual Actinic 420/460nm
SunPaq Dual Daylight 6700°K/10000°K
SmartPaq Daylight 10000°K/Actinic 460nm

 

i use the same current bulbs with 10k mh

 

I had the blue bulbs from geismann, i got rid of them for the super actinic uvl bulbs and love them alot more then the blue

 

I have been trying to find those in a box pin configuration

 

I think premium aquatics has box pin to straight pin adapters also.

 

^^^would it affect it in anyway using an adapter? or would it be just a pretty straight through thing?
