    Which do you guys perfer for actinics? as for color and coral health!

    Actinic 03 (420nm)

    Actinic Blue (460nm)

    I have used both and to be honest, I dont see the difference(in performance, not color), I could be wrong. If your using the double bulb type(PC), try using the ones that have dual actinics(420/460). Best of both worlds. Luna

    The 420's seem to give off a more purple light similar to a black light almost, while the 460's give off more of a french blue, they're lighter to my eye.

    anyone else? also i see on my coralife aquatic light that there is room to go for 2 44 inch double bulbs..... mine are 34 inch 96w going to 44inch is 116 i think will this be ok? or were the 34 inch suppose to have space for air? will post pics shortly

    420nm is TRUE actinic, 460nm is just blue. A true actinic bulb will make most coral colors really stand out similar to how a black light works. PC bulbs run really hot.
