Picked up up a single mushroom that I believe is a True Blue Mushroom Actinodiscus sp for $9. Glued it to a small piece of rubble and placed it on the bottom of the tank.

Cant seem to find a size on these guys, how big will the individual mushroom grow? Will it split on its own or will I need to cut it to get a colony going.

mine get 2-3's or so and normally split on their own. I think alot of their growth depends on your tank. personally, mine don't split when I run the tank clean, when I was venturiing into SPS, but now that I've decided to keep the tank at LPS and softie levels, they grow alot better

Good to know, thanks Cosmo. The little guy is only like an inch in diameter so still has some growing to do. I dont run a skimmer or anything since I keep mostly softies and lps so it should do great!

Still not opened all the way after fiddling with final placement this morning. Still seems to open good though, although the color isn't as blue as at the store. Not sure if that is due to stress and acclimation or if it is lighting differences (T5 vs LED)
