    Hello Everyone,

I placed an empty media sock over the return hose on my Octopus Bh2000, to reduce microbubles while it cycles (which works very well). Just installed it yesterday, on my 60 gallon FOWLR and its already got some nasty green stuff in the collection cup. Anyway, I was thinking i could place some Active carbon in the media sock anyway since the sock will be sealed. Would there be any benefit from this? Just kinda throwing the thought out there.

There's always some benefit to running carbon, and the sock would be a good place for it. If you're planning to run carbon in your system, I recommend you add it during the cycle. It will not prolong the cycle, but rather, will allow the bacterial colony to grow according to the way you're running your tank.
