I added a 90g CUC consisting of 60 mixed snails (Astrea, Cerith and Margarita), 60 Blue Leg Hermits and 20 Red Scarlet Hermits.

They've been in for 24 hours and seem to have taken pretty good, I know of 3 crabs that didn't make it for sure and theres 6 snails that aren't doing much so far but I'm pretty sure they are alive.

Also added my first two corals-Zanthus sp. They are a pretty good sized frags of about 4"+. The pictures really don't show their true colours.

This one is purplish with vibrant green centres.

And the second has two different types on it. It has a bunch in the middle that are a light purple and small in diameter, on each side are bigger groups of dark marroon with the green points in the centre also.

This morning one of the red scarlets made its way up into one of the zoas, it didn't seem bothered by the visitor as it only closed up the immediate polyps here the crab was standing and picking at the coral.

I've read mixed feelings about crabs in a coral tank. Is this guy being up there something to worry about, or is he just doing what they do-in a non intrusive way, if that makes sense.

    So many questions, yikes.

I Keep Crabs With My Corals And I Feel Like They May Pick Slightly Sometimes, But Like You Said, Its Natural And i Have Never Noticed any Destruction. Keep Your Eyes Open Though

I think the scarlets are known to be ok with corals.
