Hi, my name is Melissa! And I am a fish addict. I have had this problem now for almost a year now ;D. I would like to welcome all you to this group meeting!

I have always joked around that I dont do anything small...anything I do I do all the way! Well Labor day will be my official 1 year anniversary in this "addiction" I have gone from a 28g to a 75g with an addition of another 6g, then a 55g...traded all those for a 135g. Now I just recently got my 28g back and started my 6g. I will soon be starting a new 12g tank. I also have a couple QT tanks and a couple 2.5g tanks that I am hoping to use for a nursery for seahorses.

Now for most, that would be a sign of a problem....well not for me. I just thought it was a cute little "quirk" that I had. I was ummm.....lets say....undecisive on what type of fish I want, so I am setting up a bunch of species tank....yeah thats it. ::)

The realization that I have a problem came just tonight when I decided to spend an exciting Saturday night cleaning out my freezer. Now that should be harmless enough, right? WRONG! My diet has consisted lately of fast food (yuck) or meals in a box. So I had to toss some very unidentifiable meat looking things and some items with an experation date back to 2006!

What I did find in there was ALL THE DIFFERENT FISH FOOD THAT I HAD. Basically that is all that is left. I have Rods food, I have squid, I have clams and clams in half shell, I have mysis, I have brine, I have cyclopeeze, I have coral food, I have krill, I have silversides and I could go on and on.

I open up my fridge and in my door I have various fish supplements...Selco, garlic, flake food, artic pods, phytopheast, brine shrimp eggs, reef essential, coral food and more stuff.

I look on my microwave...sitting on top of that I have selcon, amino omega, metrodiazole, focus, the various feeding cups.

Under each of the tanks I have the different special food that does not requiere refridge...big tank....zoomax, algea supplements

In my office I have all the buckets and equipment needed. I have the 2 part solution, buffer for smaller tanks, baking soda I bought for when that runs out, calcium, artremia hatchery, I have bottles of this and bottles of that.

My basement has big trashcans full of RO/DI water, saltwater, my water machine is down there, more buckets, more fish junk!

I have feeding sticks, different feeding clips, books, magazines, articles, blah blah blah!

So, that is my story.....I am an addict. First step they say is to admit it! Does not mean I am going to change......

Hello Melissa, I'm an addict too so I feel your pain! I went from the laundry room and now it's spilled out into the LR, the kitchen is next, then the br's. I'm wondering how I can incorporate one into our shower........

Bathing with the fishes? That would be pretty cool. I always dreamed of pumping saltwater into our pool and catch whatever when I go fishing. One day later in my life I promise to do it.

I had that dream one night! Honestly...the one with bathing with the fishes. I ran out of room and had my shrimps in the tub! There was probably hundred of them. I used the tub as another tank ...OMG! But you have to know me to understand that....a sleep psychologist would have a field day with me....I not only have night terrors on regular basis, I have hit somebody in my sleep, and who knows what else. Recently I sleep called 911! So bathing with shrimp was a "normal" dream for me! All reasons that keep adding up to why I remain single!!!!

Hello, my name is John, and I am a newbie fish fiend. Right now, I have my 75g in my dining room. I redid the plumbing yesterday, so there is all sorts of stuff around the dining room table. I have a trash can full of water mixing next to the tank right now waiting for tomorrow's water change. A semi-broken powerhead is waiting to be tweeked to it can mix the salt. Of course.....it is sitting on the floor.

I have six or seven buckets out on the deck, tubing in one of them, a siphon hanging over the side.

There are more buckets in the laundry room and a filter sock soaking in the sink. In the garage, I have PVC parts in a 10g tank, six water containers of RODI, salt, more pvc, glass tops that are sitting around, never to be used again.

My bedroom has my nano. I keep that on in perfect order. My wife wants her bedroom kept somewhat nice.

In a cubby, also in the dining room, is my 10g freshwater.

I have my own section of freezer space.

    It will only get worse.

My name is John, and I have a problem.

Hello...(cough, sniff, yawn, look around the room) My name is Christy and I have a problem. I have 3 tanks. FW 150, FW 90, and SW 75 I love my tanks. I get new things all the time. Like just today I brought home a Ricordia (sp?) and an urchin but will I let my husband buy any Jeep parts....They as a whole are too expensive. $45 here and there vs $250 is a big difference. Wouldn't everyone agree? Now how easy would it be to convince my husband that my 150 needs to be converted??? Hmmm Let me think on that one!!::);)::);D

BTW I understand how you feel. I started with a saltwater "kit" from petco. (mistake) Soon that had another set of lights and a skimmer and was running as my first reef. I then got the idea that I wanted an sps tank so I bought a 50 gallon, drilled and plumbed that one and now it's up and running. I then had a lady come into the fish store where I work and wanted to give away a 60 gallon, complete setup. Well that's my boring freshwater tank now. A little bit later, the guy who owns the fish store where I work (who is an active 3 reef member) sold me his 90 gallon wave front which is now my fowlr tank. Hello I'm an addict too. I am actually thinking about breaking down the 55, moving all the contents to the 90 and disbanding my fowlr project. Time is killing me and I'm having a hard time keeping up with water requirements and I have a 75 gpd ro unit.
