Ok. I'm ordering a flame angel from saltwaterfish.com. I know I said I'd never order another fish from them after the Naso Tang . . . "incident." But.. they are having a 10 pack ricordea sale for $100 and the flame angels are on sale for $40... So I've been doing some reading and from what I read flame angels are prone to parasites as well. More bad news: my QT is not.... really... ready... for a flame angel to live in it for a month. I need more time for it to mature I think. SO... I'm seeking oppinions on how to deal with this. I'm thinking maybe a FW dip before or possibly after drip acclimation.. Input please!

Take a piece or two of rock out of your DT and put it in your quarantine tank. You'll be fine. If you don't want to do that, I you give a freshwater dip, but I really don't like to do that to a healthy fish. It will cause a lot of unnecessary stress. As long as the fish in your tank are healthy, they should be fine. Feed with some garlic supplement for extra immune system health.

Adding live rock from DT to QT is a solution but one thing to keep in mind is that if angel does have parasites, you will also have to toss your live rocks. I suggest using old filters from DT (if you have any). Also monitor ammonia as frequently as you could and prepare to do large water change if you detect any. Good luck!

The most common parasites that come with Angelfish are Flukes. Give it a 5-7 minute freshwater dip and treat it with prazipro in the QT. Make sure it is eating before you treat.
