That was one of my first ideas. But I've heard from a few people that you can't silicone Plexiglas to regular glass; they say it won't last??? I'm really getting confused now, too many conflicting reports. Maybe I should just try...and try again!

Silicone can be used if you are using a glass tank with Plexiglas. But if the sump is acrylic then use acrylic plastic and use acrylic GLUE.

    Hey Phil,

Where can I get some of this reef epoxy? I'm not sure if I've seen it at any of my LFS's, but then again I wasn't looking for it!

Wow! Thanks for the help guys! It's nice to know you can ask people who have actually tried stuff and get honest answers instead of just opinions!

I bought the 20gal glass tank today which will be my refugium. I guess I'll try some plexi for my dividers. Is 1/4inch thickness enough or too much for the dividers?

More questions people. The tank came with an 18inch flourescent. Is there a favorite bulb to use for a refugium? How long should I run the lights on the refugium?

    Thanks,

1/4" is fine, I went 3/8" on mine.  We have a place called Tripp Plastics that made mine custom.

You can get the epoxy at you lfs or online. I did a search on reef epoxy to get the pic so you can try there. Make sure your cuts are straight and the dividers fit snug to save on silicone. The epoxy also can be used under water to hold corals in place. I don't do it because the coral may not like where i put it.
