You're not going to get stung. Or at least you won't feel it. Just place it in the tank and let it do it's thing. Mine moved around for weeks before it settled on a spot.

i disagree. you could get stung and when you do you could feel it.
try to gently push water around the nem to get it to contract, then try to grab by the foot and place in the tank. Turn off powerheads until the nem has his foot attached then turn them back on and let it do its thing. dont mess with it for a good week or 2 unless its in immediate danger (overflow/powerheads)

It's not necessarily a painful sting; however, someone who is highly allergic may have a serious reaction that requires medical treatment. Got stung by a Condy myself, once. I, too, only felt a mild tingle, but my hand swelled and was red for several hours. I now use a net to move nems into place. :)

some anemones have a much more potent sting than others, i find Atlantic anemones and carpet anemones typically have a more potent one. even if you are allergic the bad scenario would be a swollen finger. but in some very rare cases you could be hospitalized so its good to never take the chance. i always handle anemones bare handed. i guess im lucky im not allergic.
