adding base rock to it

    Will adding about a two pound piece of BR to my 55 gal tank that is cycling disruping the cycle in anyway. im trying to seed a small piece to put in a QT because im thinking i might have it up and running at all times.

    any thoughts?

    Depends on how much death is on your 2 pounds of base rock.
    How far into your cycle are you?
    Is your base rock dry or wet?
    Is the base rock cured?
    at a local fish store?

    I think its going to be tough for anybody to answer with certainty.
    There are to many variables.

    If it's dry base rock, you shouldn't have any problems. The only way it would affect your tank is if it has any life on it that might die from transport.
