It seems like the subject regarding adding rock to your tank is a little vague so I wanted to start a thread showing what happened (if anything) to my tank.

    1. I started with ~10lbs of live rock that has been in my tank for about 5 months
    2. I bought 19lbs of cured base rock (not live)
    3. I took the cured base rock and soaked it in a separate bucket with water from my 30gal and a Koralia to move the water around in the bucket
    4. After ~3 hours I took 5lbs of rock out of the bucket at put in my tank
    5. After~35 hours my fish were looking good and there were no changes in my parameters so I added another 7lbs of rock from the bucket
    6. I kept away for another 3 days to see if a minor cycle would start and to let the fish destress and get back to 100% normal. I never saw a problem but I wanted to wait a couple more days.
    7. With no problems I added the final 7lbs of rock
    8. The final 7lbs have been in my tank for 24 hours now and I am starting to see a small cycle begin. My fish are doing just fine and so is the water.

I have a feeling I went overboard with the preparation of the rock but I wanted to do everything proper and see what happened. I have heard of other people seeing minor cycles after adding rock. Right now it looks like I have done everythign right. My fish are perfect, eating heathily and looking great. There is a minor cycle starting that I will update everyone with in a couple days.

The cycle has gotten a little worse but it is still very small. My guess is that by the end of the weekend the cycle will be complete and everything back to normal

What do you mean by cured base rock? Cured rock is live rock? Was it just dry rock?

+1 there is no such thing as cured base rock. If it was cured its live rock, that could be why you are having the little cycle. Base rock is dry rock.

it was base rock. Sorry about the confusion. By cured, I mean cleaned off and ready to put in the tank. It was dry/base rock.
