Ok so I finally finished my cycle on my new 72g. I have 4 damsels currently swimming strong eating great. I want to add a fish or fishies. I have compiled a small list of fish I'm looking into. All opinions welcome and appreciated.

2 ocellaris clowns (what would a tank be without these babies)
    blue hippo (small 2 inch)
    brown scopas tang
    royal gramma
    sailfin tang
    yellow tang

    THANKS GUYS!

    B

Too many tangs for that tank size. You can get away with one or two small ones but they will have to have a bigger home when they get 4 or 5" IMO.

4 tangs in a 72g seems like alot to me and if you do they should all be around the same size because the bigger one will pick on the little ones. id put the clowns and the royal gramma in first. Tangs should always be last IMO. Good luck and pictures of when you get thses guys would be great!

well I guess I didn't explain myself. That's a list of what I'm looking into. Not necessarily what I want to have at the end. I want to add something now. I know I can't have that array of tangs just seeing which one is reasonable in a 72g. I don't want the tang police to kill me. haha

Are you planning to leave the 4 damsels in there?

I'd add the royal gramma followed by the pair of OC Clowns a few weeks later. IMO 1 small tang from the above list will be ok in the 72. Will need a lager tank 5'-6' in length as it gets older/larger.

If you just finished cycling I would add one BIG or two SMALLER fish at a time, then wait a week or two to add anothe fish and so on. You have to give the beneficial bacteria time to catch up to the increased bio load. If you remove the damsels, I think you will be ok to add the RG and the Clowns at the same time because you will not be increasing your bio load.

get rid of the blue and sailfin they get to be over a foot long. just the yellow tang alone is pushing it. id look into a tomnini tang, kole tang or bristle tooth tang
