I have an aga 180 tank and stand , i currently have a 125 mixed reef that will all go into the 180 , my question is I have a 75 gallon tank that will be my sump with a brand new super reef octopus xs2000 skimmer that has to fit in this sump , I need to add about 6" or so onto the existing stand so I have enough room underneath to clear everything
Can I safely build a box so to speak and place it or secure it to the top of the stand to raise the height ?
Will this be safe ? I would think a long as it is secure it shouldn't move ?? Instead of building a whole new stand ?
    Thanks

The question is if you raise it 6" the door openining is still the same will you get the sump in. Our are you going to rebuild the front of the stand to a larger opening? Do you have any Pics.

I cant post any pics here sorry , won't let me for some reason but yes I was going to modify the opening slighty to get a 75 gal. In or out if I need to , but when I measure I have to raise my tank 6" in order to fit the sump and skimmer in but I need to make sure it will be safe to make a box and re-enforce it and mount it to the existing top of the stand therefore raising my tank up 6" ?
    Thanks
