    Hey all,

I have a Lumenmax 2 pendant over my 70g cube. I have two things I'd like to add to my tank.

One is I"m trying to find a way to add a moonlight to go on after the pendant fires down so I can still observe the tank. Since I've had the pendant I haven't ifgured out a way to do this. It's obviously too hot to install a little LED to the side of it, right? Is there any led light that mounts onto the back of a tank and has an arm?

Second thing I'm trying to do is find a way to shade the overhang of light that comes off the pendant. I hang it maybe about 12" off the surface, but there my little 1-yr old daughter is always getting light in her eyes since the tank is in our family room. Ultimately the front on the right side of the light is bleeding over the tank so those two areas are what I'm trying to shade somehow. Is there any way to make some type of shade, I know that lowering the pendant will fix the problem but the light spread is much better when it's higher up.

Thanks for any advice or info!

I truly appreciate the help newreef, unfortunately neither of those LED's have a bracket large enough to fit over my back rim. They're both around 9mm-11mm and my rim is roughly 2inches.

    Thanks for trying though K+

I have the same reflector, and same issue with shading. I have toyed with the idea of adding a canopy, but I like the open top look. I added a t5 strip light to the front of the tank to add actinic support, and it also added a little shade...to the front at least.

You can put the halide close to the surface and just add a strong fan for cooling.
