I plan to get some leds built with a dimmer so i can use it mainly to view my coral at night. My question is i have the option to use different colors. Is all blue still my best bet? or should i throw a few reds/greens or purples in? I do not intend to use these lights for growing coral or any other purpose other then showing off corals.. any input would be great thanks guys

Mix it blue and purple. That way you can see the pinks, reds, and purples at night too. If you have just blue not much other color other than green will pop. This also depends on the flourescent power of the coral itself aswell. If you want your tank to look prettier at night time viewing, then a mix of blue and purple or even just purple will be your best bet.
