Hey guys, just wondering what the opinion was on the best way to add additional LS to a pre-existing system. Only have about 40 lbs of LS in my 75gal and was hoping to add another bag in to top it up to about 75lbs. Should I add 5 lbs a day or something of that sort? I just don't want to smother the entire top layer of the sand bed and not have any existing bacteria available to do it's stuff. I have plenty of LR which should be doing alot of the biological filtering, but from what I have read, the substrate also plays a huge part. Any help is always appreciated!

I would only add about a half inch of sand to one half of your sand bed every week until you get to the desired amount.
