Adding some tangs

I currently have a yellow tang that is about 4". I would like to add a hippo And a powder brown. I have read that they need to be the same size or bigger. Anyone have any experience with multiple tangs?

 

I have 6 in my tank....what size tank do you have?

Ok...if you have a big enough skimmer, you should be able to add those tangs without much issue...just be careful on the powder browns, they can be ich magnets, so buy healthy. IMO buy the hippo/regal/blue tang last and slightly smaller...they are aggressive.

I'm also moving in a couple months I debated on getting them then and adding them when I put the tank back up

 

I had 3 tangs in my tank.. ( i had no skimmer previously). They are all doing great! My leutennant tang died of age.

I still have my sailfin tang and my yellow tang. ( I also have a grown foxface). I'm considering getting a Regal but I'm afraid of it getting crypto.
I added both tangs at the same time

 

Do you think they need to be as big as or bigger than my yellow

 

I say bigger if possible. ( although it really doesn't matter much). Your yellow tang will be a yellow tang and be a bully big or small.

They get used to each other eventually. ( especially on a tank such as a 150G).
