My 20G Long's been up and running FOWLR for just over 2 months and as of now I only have an Emperor 280 as filtration on it. I'm looking for a DIY sump/fuge/wet/dry...any kind of additional filtration.
I have an empty 5G and one of those plastic cabinet things I could use for a wet/dry.
The main problem is my roomate is completely against my filter because of the "noise" it and the waterflow makes. Which DIY project would be able to give me additional filtration and not make much noise/water surface noise?
    Thanks

I was thinking having pvc run water down to my small plastic 3 cabinet/wet dry tray and then down into a 5 gallon sump to be pumped back up into the tank.
    Would this theoretically work?

A fuge/sump would be the way to go as far as keeping noise down. Wet/dry filters can add quite a bit of noise and are not as efficient.
