I want to add more flow to my tank.

    55 Gallon tank.

"Koralia 2"'s at opposite ends of my tank facing each other/front. Typical. 1200GPH total.

1 HOB filter rated at 300gph.

1 HOB skimmer rated at 275GPH

Gives me 1775GPH assuming ratings are correct.

So here are the two options I'm thinking about:

    1. Add 2 "Koralia 1"'s (800GPH additional, total of about 47x)
    2. Add 1 "Koralia 1" and 1 "Koralia Nano" (675GPH additional, total of about 45x)

Either solution would put me within target range. I'm thinking with the Koralia Nano, I could do some more interesting configurations(?).

I probably wouldn't add any additional flow later either... this would be "it".

    Thoughts?

I think my three is stonger than my four! In all reality there isn't a possibility of too much flow... Well there is and I am sure someone will post that but you know what I mean!!

I have close to 45times turnover and am thinking of upgrading all the koralias in the tank that are under four to fours or get some of the new MAGNUMS!-That is an awesome name!

    Happy reefing!

You also need to make sure you are keeping the flow chaotic too. Like having a wave maker put on it. It is better for the tank to get water moving in different direction then getting blasted one way all the time.
I have two 5,800 gph HammerHead pump running my tank and still think I need more flow. But then again I am blowing sand around the way it is now. :)

I agree with otty, it needs to be random and chaotic flow, not just blasting away constantly. Now this will be my second post advising to get a vortech. Now that I got one I love it so much I think I should start selling them and getting commission. A mp20 will do you good, but If it were me I would get the mp40, and take out all the other koralia's. You can set that thing to get a really great widespread pulsing flow. With that said, if you do not get the MP 40, I might suggest MJ1200's with sureflow mods on a wavemaker.

Well, a wavemaker would be the ideal situation. But in the absence of the equipement (just regular Koralias) to hook up to such a device, I would just stick with the addition of two Koralia-1s. With four good PHs in the system, not only will you have a good total flow but good cross flow as well. Check these guys out on eBay. Great service and the best prices I have seen on the net for Koralias.
