so a local reef guy had a bunch of fish he was giving away. so i said "Hey free fish i better see what hes gott!!!" i go over and he has some very nice fish mostly fish to big for my needs but he had 2 fish in QT a black cap basslet and a caris wrasse that is beginning to change color. his only conditions wer he wanted to make sure they had a good home so i showed him tons of pics.. half hr later im on my way home with 2 new fish buddies... he got them 2 days ago from a lfs he said they werent doing good there either but he got them for a steal. i now have them in QT tanks in my house wondering if theres anything i can do to help them regain their strength. tank params are good im feeding them a mix of live brine soaked in selcon nd garlic and frozen foods soaked in the same. anytihng i can do to help these beauties out?

I think you are doing good so far, time will tell. As long as they are eating well that is half the battle.

Just feed them well and give them a peaceful tank to live in, that's about all I would do.
I assume you mean a coris wrasse, not "caris"? Make sure you're aware of their size and temperment before throwing that one in your tank. :)

got any other frozen foods? brine is kinda like potato chips for fish. not a whole lot of nutrients. any mysis and/or cyclopeeze? also maybe soaked flake foods.

ive found the basslet's can be a tad shy sometimes. might be just a case of it warming up to its new home. maybe doin a garlic soak may entice him also. keep trying loneracer

    update for those interested:

the corris wrasse seems to be rallying and hes looking much better hes eating and swimming around happily

the black cap is still shaky he did eat but hes still not swimming around and he stays stationary near the surface or floats sideways or nosse down not looking so hot.. i am adding almost an entirre cube of food to his tank he seems to be taking a liking to marine cusine soaked in garlic so that is what he is getting. i watched him eat 4 med sized shrimp out of the entire cube. i am also sure to suck out as much as possible of the un eaten food and im keeping up on water changes. water params are still spot on

would stress coat help at all i went to pet smart and the girl there said it may help. i already have marine stress coat and she knew it so she was not going for a sale but if any1 knows if it will help or not let me know please
