My dog is half lab and she HATES water!! So, there's always the exception to the rule!

But I'm sure he will love playing fetch :)

Congrats!!! I'm always in favor of adopting pets if possible. You're really giving this dog a second chance and I applaud you for it. Very nice doggy!

Congrats on the Doggy! We have a Yellow lab/Great Dane cross that we got last year, she
was just 7 month old when we got her but what a wonderful dog she was then and is now.

    This is her last summer.

Gee I missed a lot of comments on this thread. Frank doesn't really fear water, he fears drop-offs. He can't stand the pool, even the steps. Yet he's fine at the beach with the gentle slope. :D And he can't stand the chlorine...

I live in Naples. It's not really a beach, but every other weekend I take the boat to a small island called Key Wayden. The city doesn't own it, so people camp, party, and of course bring their dogs all the time! (as long as they pick up after it) I took him last weekend, and he had a blast; except when he got into a small quarrel with a Bull Mastiff. They're huge!
