    Hi,

I have a 20 gallon FOWLR that recently sprung a leak, and I had to move all my liverock, and sand into several buckets. I've already put all the fish from the tank into several of my other tanks, but not sure what to do with my liverock and sand. I haven't really taken care of that tank too well, and the liverock is riddled with aiptasia. Plus, I don't think I will be starting a new tank any time soon. Would it be best just to let the liverock dry out, and just re-cure it one day? Would it be better to store it in a bucket with seawater? Realistically, it'd probably be 3-4 months at the earliest before I could find a place for the liverock. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

If the rock is riddled with aiptasia, I would suggest just drying it out and then re-curing it for your next build. Otherwise without any aiptasia, I would just keep it in saltwater as mentioned, and some life will live even without temp control or food.

If you decide to dry it out which I think is the best alternative you should consider use some bleach to clean the rock of any organic matter that may have. A solution of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach will do it.
