So I've had my Turbo twist running since June so it's time to do some maintenance on it. The glass container was surprisingly clean, so physically cleaning it didn't take much, but what a pain it was to detach everything without water spilling out of the UV unit. I ended up putting a container underneath it and opened up the bottom connector to have it spill in the container and floor :-/. Wasn't much water but I was wonder if there was a better way someone knew to doing this? The manual did not go into details about how to disassemble the unit.

I also want to replace my tubing to the UV since it currently sucks. I originally used acrylic hoses to attach the pump (in the sump) and I have an output hose that just feeds into my sump sock. There's little from stopping those hoses from getting bumped, and spilling water on to the floor :-X. It's always been my fear even though it has not happened.

My 2nd question is, for anyone who owns a UV 6xTurbo Twist 18w, What size diameter hose did you use to attach your UV to? I think my current hose is just slightly too big (didn't have to warm the end to get it to fit). IF I don't get a response, I suppose I could buy a few sizes that look right to try out, but figured asking first. Also if someone has a better setup than using acrylic hoses I'm all for hearing it.

    Thanks!
