Advice on skimmer setup.

I got an AquaC 180. I have an Octopus OTP3000 w/mesh wheel. I installed a 1" bulkhead in the skimmer body and plumbed the pumps return to the skimmers input (spray injector removed). I plumbed an overflow/ball valve to the air input (fitting removed) for water input. So I set this up as a recirc skimmer. I was having start issues with the pump and vibration. Turns out one of the ceramic bearings embeded in the plastic of the pump rotor/magnet is not centered. So it wobbles and shakes and hits the inside wall and wont turn. :
So I need a new rotor/magnet. Two options here. I can either purchase a needle wheel from coralvue and use it as a recirc skimmer, or I can reinstall the fittings, order a paddle wheel for an ocean runner 3500 and use it as spray injection skimmer. I wish I had seen this when I bought the thing new and had a warranty. I never used it till now.
