Long story short and complied from other threads to one in what I feel is the best place to get the correct answer.
I am needing to move my remaining livestock to a 10 gal temp tank for about 3 months. I am looking for an affordable light option to keep the inhabitants alive and as happy as possible. I am holding to spend less than $50 if at all possible.
The biggest concern for light I can think of is my squamosa clam.
Any suggestions. The tank is a standard 10 gal 12" tall.

They are coming from a 55 gal with T5 4 x54 watt overdriven on 2 icecap 660 ballasts. After the temp period will be in a 90 gallon, with either 6 t5s setup as above, or if things work out right may go led.

    Thanks

For just three months I would rehab the ice cap to house 2 24'' bulbs or whatever would be comparable. That way your not unnecessarily putting lighting stress on the inhabitants.

Thats something I never even thought about doing.

1 question I plan to cycle the new 90 gallon during the down time, if I end up using the t5s I have now is that going to be an issue, 2 t5s should be good to cycle with wouldnt it.

I started the cycle on my tank without any lights at all. I dont think It would be a problem(i may be wrong) you want the light to help the growth of beneficial algae on your rock but not to cycle it. Again I may be wrong but thats what i did. I still have no "real light" on my tank and so far my levels have been fine.
