I have some frags on plugs that I would like to get rid of the plug and attach them to the rock.

Here is a list of items and maybee you can tell me the best method of transferring.

    2 Acros SPS on plugs
    1 Monti on a plug
    1 torch on a plug
    1 patch of Star grass
1 colony of purple zoas.( I would Like to just try to transfer 1 or 2 to a piece of rock)

I don't want to kill it so I'm asking for assistance.

    Thanks

You can glue them to some rubble rock if its available.

What about the softie. like the zoa. Do you scrapt it off the original rock or cut it.

First, you can just epoxy the plug onto the rock. You can always cut off the end if it doesn't fit. The coral will quickly grow around it covering it.

If you want to just attach the frag to the rock. The thing to do is to get a small piece of rock and super glue the frag to the rock rubble. For the sps, just cut it as close to the base as possible and reglue. For the Torch, I would just cut it off the plus an epoxy the skeleton to a rock. If you need to attach the frags to rocks already in the aquarium, I would use epoxy.

I would choose to drill holes in the rock or buy fake rocks with holes in them.

You are better of cutting off the end of the plug and using glue to attach it to the rock where you want it to go because the is is far less stressful to the corals.

if you have your heart set on not using the plug basically you have to break or cut the the frag from the plug and glue it where you want it to go. On the zoo's be very careful you do not cut into them and make sure you wear gloves and eye protection and make sure to wash your hands really good when done, out of all the corals they are the deadliest.

when you cut or take the SPS off the plugs I always tray and leave the base or a piece of the coral on it and let it grow, in no time you will have a nice little frag growing,

As far as using epoxy, make sure you only attach it to the skeleton of any corals you use to attach it because it heats up when it cures and the heat will kill anything it touches.
