Any input would be great. I am running two tunze doc 9011 which produce no skimmate, I am upgrading to a larger sump roughly 52 gallons, which skimmer would you use? Things I am considering:
    1 SWC 230
    2 Aqua C ev series 400
    3....

I would love some opinions thanks in advance

If electricity consumption is not an issue, then it is hard to beat the EV400 IMO. The most important choice is the pump. I liked the Mag 24 combined with the 1" injector.

Reef Octo sro series's are the bees knees man. The bubble blaster pumps are unreal.

Sorry for the short post, total water volume:
    DT:185gal
    Refuge:29 gal
    Sump:52 gal

Who knows what the actual volume is with the displacement of water with rocks...266 gallons...

Do you think the Mag 24 will translate into a good deal of heat transfer, already running a mag 18 and mag 12 return pumps, thanks

Most all skimmer companies exaggerate the capabilities of their skimmers so it is hard to use their guidelines to pick your skimmer

The mag 24 on that skimmer will actually pull 125w all of it will translate into heat in the end. You actually could get away with a EV-240 with that tank size.

If going with a needlewheel skimmer I would recommend at minimum 8" body with a pump that will pull at least 800 lph of air.

Thanks, do the companies exaggerate the LPH on units or is that somewhat accurate?
