When I saw that you were running 2 led fixtures made by a local builder for around 750 I figured you must be. I am in Los Lunas I have 2 of the sam led fixtures over my 90 gallon.

So far I have been pretty happy with them. I have been running them for about 1 1/2 years now and everything in my tank seems to be doing really good. How do you like them?

Yes I have quite a few sps corals that are doing well. They have not been in the tank long so they are smaller frags but we will see what happens. Here is a picture of my tank from a few days ago. I agree the cost of the leds was a bit hard to swallow.

    Your tank looks sweet!

One of the reasons I havent gone to SPS is I fear that I don't have a high enough current in the tank. Don't they require fairly high flow??

My copperband is not the best swimmer??

Yeah you may need a bit more. My tank is a 90 I have 2 mp40w both running in reef crest mode both on master at each end of the tank, 2 maxijet 1200 on the back wall and a mag 9.5 return pump. I just got rid of the big leather that was in the center of my tank in the pic because it was not doing very well with the flow.
It may be worth a try. You have enough lighting i would think and not all sps corals require huge amounts of flow. I do not recall what you have for flow, was it 2 mp20s. Just do some research and find some that do not require a lot of flow.

Do you feed your candy canes? I've had two for a while and they won't split or grow new heads, they just keep getting larger

No I don't feed them. Just do Reef plus twice a week and feed the fish. What kind of lights do you have them under...and flow rate?
