I have a 180 gall i tried to insert the most complex and insane looking aquascape using PVC + drilled coral + twistie ties. It tramatized most of my fish eventually 6 of my top dogs died including some very expensive and large sized favorites of mine.

My tank was thrown into disarray with spiking nitrates and amonia and red slime, etc.. etc.. etc..

Long story short I removed the PVC and went back to a center stack so i can clean the front and back with no problems.

Now I am all about ease of use and a clean running tank. no more messing around If im gonna go big I will pay a professional to do it.

Anyway many months later my tank has finally stablized and is doing well. I put a few new fish in over the last month and they are doing great and very friendly. The key now is not to mess with anything.

Check out Craigslist for some great tank deals.

I have 2 angels the queen and emperor and both of them don't have any corals to chew on. I had to sell back my pulsating xenia's because they were chomping on those but they do well with the mushrooms in the tank.

One day I will build a reef tank but I just don't have the mulla to get exactly what I want.

Thanks guys, its been a rough ride for my tank but now all seems well.
