Ahhhhh, thank you. We would have been better off waiting for the blue tangs to come in and went with our original plan of one yellow, one blue.

Hubby just informed me that one of the younger guys that works there told him he could add the two tangs. He is going to call them and see if we can exchange one of the tangs (I'm assuming we will keep the one with the "cut" in its side, will it heal?). I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

*Hubby just called them. They said it is best to add aggressive fish to the tank last, and tangs should be added in three's. :( Since we don't necessarily want a tank full of tangs, we are going to sell them back to the LFS, for 1/2 price. 1) This mistake cost us $50. 2) We will be sure to research before adding fish, and also wait for the owner of the LFS or the manager, that has been most helpful to us, before we purchase (they were both gone when hubby went to buy the fish). 3) I'm certainly going to miss the colorfulness of our tank when they are gone.

So, now I'm trying to decide what fish to add. I would love to have a mandarin goby, but our tank is not established enough yet (we did add some Tigger Copepods). I am under the impression that damsel and wrasse are annoying, maybe aggressive too? What other colorful fish can we add? We would like to get a sleeper goby or jawfish. Do all gobies eat copepods? Will they eat our supply we are trying to build up for our future mandarin? Are angelfish aggressive?

Fish books, is there one big encyclopedia of fish book out there? We have one book, The Encyclopedia of Aquarium Fish by D ick Mills, but I feel like it isn't really in depth.

Sorry about your loss. If there is one thing I've learned over the years it's that you can trust very little of what any employee at an lfs will tell you. They're job is to sell things. Not to talk you out of things.. That being said, every lfs is different. Occasionally you will find one employee or someone that you will get great advice from. You almost have to ask them things you know the answer to first to know if they can be trusted etc. Good luck!!!

Angels will eat Corals. But if your not going to run a Reef, then by all means, they are beautiful. No, gobies do no eat PODS, they will eat most of the marine food you feed the other fish, if it gets to them, ie sinking pellets. The Dragonets are the big POD eaters. There are a mess of fish out there for you to enjoy still.

You could add the Mandarin, you did seed the tank PODS, you just have to keep feeding them now, you should do ok with them. Scooter Blenny is the other Dragonet.

Thanks for all your help. We ended up getting a ladder glider goby, a coral beauty, and and a flame angel. None of them really "swim" around like the yellow tangs, but they are still fun to watch. The ladder glider has HUGE lips. We affectionately call him "Jagger". ;)

The flame angel is really shy and tends to hang out at the top of the tank like our clowns. Although, when no one is looking, it likes to swim down and around the live rock. The coral beauty found a hole in the rocks it likes to hang out in, as did the goby. We would eventually like to add coral, but it will be a little while (as in years most likely), since we will have to buy new lights for them.

So frustrating. Woke up Wednesday a.m. and our Coral Beauty died. This afternoon, we lost our ladder goby.
