I've used a small syringe filled with boiling lemon juice and injected them...... it's been 4 or 5 month now and no more aptasia. I also have used just boiling really salty water in a big baster......worked like a charm.

I'm sure i'll catch some flack for these methods but it's what has worked for me.

I have been reading about people taking a syringe and injecting them with vinegar and boiling water. It doesnt seem like Injecting vinegar into the tank would be a good idea but people have dont it. Has anyone else tried this? I will order some joes juice but i am looking for a quick fix now

I've read success stories with all above mentioned suggestions.

And if you haven't heard yet peppermint shrimp often keep these under control once you've eliminated the bigger ones. Not always though.

No personal experience with this though, just passing on what I've read.

You can also use bergia(sp.) they are small nudibranches. The problem is all they eat are aiptasia, and it takes a couple to completely irradicate them. I have use Aiptasia X, works great. My buddy swears by it over Joe Jucie

I bought some Kalkwasser, mixed some of it with RO water and made my own Joe's Juice. Then I got a syringe with a 25 guage, 1 inch needle, drew some up and injected it directly into the mouth of the aiptasia. You don't need much at all....maybe 0.1ml per aiptasia. They whither to nothing. I also purchased a few peppermint shrimp to keep the aiptasia population at bay. Since I did this, I have seen NONE. I have been very pleased.

We use Joe's Juice. But I would be willing to use lemon juice as well. Friend of mine has had success with lemon juice, not even boiling. Just straight up lemon juice.

I have 2 peppermints in my 120 gal reef and I have no aptasia. Whenever I see one pop up it is usually gone before to long.

Aiptasia-X from Red Sea worked very well for me before introduced our peppermint. It's great that they include an angled applicator as well.
