Aiptasia Anemone!!

    Cool thanks for the help. I will try everything until they are gone. I currently have a CBS, if i get a peppermint shrimp will they be alright together in a 40 gallon tank?

    cbs can get a litttle aggressive pharmarjohn has the right answer kalk and ro (joes juice) works very well i use it w/2 peppermint shrimp and have been able to keep them under control but they are a pain once you get them they get in places where you cant ,good luck

    My 20g tank was infested with aiptasia, got 5 peppermints and they ate it all up within 1-2 weeks.

    I have 2 CBS's and 5 peppermint shrimp, they don't bother with each other.

    It is hit and miss, mostly hit. I have two P-shrimp in my 90g. At least I think I do. Last time I saw them was two months ago. They are nocturnal creatures that hide very well. I forget they are even in there. I am due to see them again. Once every month or two I will get lucky and see then crawling around.

    I have a CBS as well and they seem to be getting along. CBS are a might aggressive, but mine is more bark than bite. It loves to assume the pose......then do nothing.

    I dont know what kind of a tank you have. Butterfly fish are not reef safe, but we have a Kleins Butterfly in our QT and it is doing well. I quarintene a rock if I see one. The aiptasia is gone within a day, and back into oour reef it will go. Now that we got rid of our CBS we have peppermint shrimps and they are doing the same thing.

    I had good luck with peppermint shrimp. I have two in my tank now and they cleaned up the 4 or 5 aptaisia within a few weeks and they have not returned.
