Please help. I recently bought some live rock from someone getting out of the hobby and the rock has (from what I can count) 65 Aiptasia Anemones.
Some are tiny like 1/4" and others go up to 3"
I have nothing in the tank(as far as fish or corals) and I am going through and close to the end of my cycle.

If it was me, I would just get rid of that piece of rock. That is a lot of aiptasia to try to control. I've also read you can boil the rock, but I'm not sure about all that entails.

Like KC said, I would just get rid of that rock. With that many aptasia's I wouldn't risk it. You could try to kill them by adding some peppermint shrimp or by injecting them with some Joe's juice. JoesJuice

The 65+ are on 90lbs of LR. One piece has 30 on its own.

remove the rock pour the anemones with a bunch of salt, they will shrivel up. let sit for a few minutes. uses a screw driver try to pop them off the rock.

rinse rock in saltwater put back in tank.

if you try pop the anems off to soon they will just tear and may squirt water at you.

something tells me this is probably all his rock.

they are telling you to get rid of a piece of rock assuming they are all on that piece, I think they are probably spread on multiple pieces. so removing a single one isn't a option
