with peppermints I hear it is more about where they come from. I got a couple from Live aquaria and after blasting the larger ones in my 100 gallon tank I can't find any. I had probably 30-50 aiptasia at one point in that tank and was getting frustrated, I still have them in my 55 and the only difference between the two tanks is I put a couple LA peppermint shrimp in my 100 gallon. good luck!

I know they will eat the aip for a little while then for some reason just stop all together. Most that I've seen will eat prepaired foods as well as lps and nip at clams.

lol about the peppermints walking right over them.

the lemon seems to add the added kick to the kalk that is super fast at melting them. i did mine inside of a patch of xenia, the mixture didn't bother the xenia at all. i did notice the fish that hug there wouldn't get to close to the kalk clumps, so i took an airline started a syphon and syphoned the kalk clumps out after a few hours.
shut your power heads off in your tank you don't want the mix blowing on your corals. since i can only say how it was with the xenia. but they way it melted the aiptasia's i would hate to see it get on a coral you love and damage it.

Well, I just added a matted filefish and it went straight for a Kenya tree. I don't mind that much since the Kenya trees are almost as much of a pest in my tank as the aiptasia. However, I don't want it to munch on the Kenyas and ignore the aiptasia. :)

I have the same issue KC...I just go to Kroger and go to the pharmacy. Just buy a couple of insulin syringes and a bottle of real lemon lemon juice. Inject those suckers right in the mouth, and fire a small amount. Instant Death. If yours are like mine, you will probably never totally defeat them, but you can keep them at bay. P.S. it is alot more fun when they are big!!!

I just bought 2 file fish for the same reason 10 days ago, they were in the LFS for 3 weeks and eating fine. They are eating fine in my tank, but I have not seen them touch the aiptasia yet, and they are not eating any of the polyps. They just wait around to be fed mysis. I was successful with salifert aiptasia exit, however there are places that I cannot reach. Hopefully they will get interested soon. Good Luck!
