Torches need a ton of room. I have nothing within 6 inches of either of my torches.

Anyway, back on subject at least as it relates to the CBB. My CBB didn't eat for at least a week when I first got him. At least, I never saw him eating. He also didn't touch a single piece of aiptasia for well over a month. I had a HUGE outbreak of it to the point where I thought about breaking down the tank. Especially since he wasn't eating any of it. Then slowly it all started to disappear. Two, Three, Four a day were gone when I'd wake up in the morning. Mine doesn't eat anything floating in the water column. He's constantly picking at rocks for food. I'm convinced he eats some of the larger copepods in my tank. My rocks used to be thriving with them before I added him. I've tried Mysis but he doesn't seem to have much interest in that although the LFS swears that's what he was eating before I took him. Just try stuffing food into a rock he frequents and he should be good. Once things I've doesn in the past is ask friends for Aiptasia from their tanks. Sometimes they have some that's easy to scrape out.

been threw this, i had the same thing happen when i used aptasia-x that stuff seems to make them worse. i ordered the b. nudis they are so small it would take months for them to work, while the aptasia will keep multiplying, oh and b. nudis are pricey 49.00 for 3 the size of a bug they said 1/2 inch. well more like 1/4 inch. also bought 4 peppermints they weren't interested in the aptasia....

now to what works Joe's juice! when you inject the aptasia with JJ its gone for good and doesn't send out more. just poof! Gone :)
as far as i can see my tank is now free of aptasia.

well i do have them in my refugium. i just left the aptasia be in there.

Nice write up, Meekel & myself bought our CCB at the same time. I have his in my 29Gal QT (because someone took off for the weekend skiing :(), along with peppermint shrimp in which I got them in Friday afternoon from liveaquaria.com. I had to put my copperband in my 90gal, due to two of them won't get along nevermind in a 29gal. As of two days ago, mine was eating bloodworms & mysis shrimp. Yes eating, I saw it eat 3 piece of food.. :-/ With Meekel "Mike" I'm yet to see it eat. Food will pass it by. Instead, it picks as rocks & stares at the sand bed.. I agree with you on the Copepods, so whatever my supply was I'm sure it;s taken a good hit.

It's funny what fish places SWEAR they eat & it never or hardly does..

From what i've read if their allowed to grow too big they will realease eggs into the tank until the tank is overgrown with them...i also believe they can harm other corals
