aiptasia extermination

    i got a pep shrimp ( named anemonator) because i have an aiptasia, but its been a week and he hasnt done anything. My question is since the aiptasia is near the bootom of the rock, could i bury it for a couple days would that kill it

    no that wont kill it by burying it. qnd theres no guarantees a pep will munch away on the aiptasia. as usual can never tell what something might or might not do. another pep might just devour it. maybe try some aiptasiax or joes juice.

    Aptasia X works very well. With only one I would get it done quickly before they spread. I've found you have to try to starve your peppers a little before they realize the aptasia is food. I feed once a week anytime I can see any aptasia.

    Some peppermints that eat aptasia will eat only smaller sized aptasia.

    The two that I have in my tank devoured the majority of the aptasia, but they have left one in the tank to repopulate their food supply. Very intelligent that they would not eat all of them, instead leaving one to replenish their supply.

    the pepermint shrimp will do the job you just have to make sure you have the corect species there are two types of peppermint shrimp techniquelly. The one to do the job is Lysmata wurdemanni. I have used the aptasia x and it worked great.
